Make Merkadotecno a nationally recognized company

October 4, 2022
Problem Statement
The Merkadotecno company lacked an identity. They managed a logo that was used on channels such as the website and social networks. When the investigation began, it was evident that the logo they used generated recall of a different brand dedicated to a similar activity but on a much larger scale. They did not have a mission or vision either.
Ensure that Colombian homes recognize the Merkadotecno brand
Merkadotecno's target audience is people between 18 and 45 years old who live with their families, people who generally purchase small appliances and technology items for their home. According to the research, users prefer a place that is close, friendly and that gives them confidence, a place to return to.
My role in the project
At that time I played the role of multimedia producer and during the initial stage I worked together with another multimedia producer. Here I had the opportunity to carry out user research, design the company logo, also create its mission and vision, additionally I created some graphic pieces; I also did prototyping for the website and finally built the company's website again.
Create corporate identity and build website
Initially, an investigation was carried out where surveys were carried out in different cities in the country. The team at that time was made up of 4 people who were located in cities such as Cúcuta, Villavicencio, Bogotá and Fusagasuga. After the first month the team fragmented and there were only three members left, with whom we worked on creating a brief to come up with a proposal for the company.
Later I was in charge of the tasks of sketching the logo, validating the brand colors and typography, meanwhile my partner worked on an advertising sport that presented the work team.
After this we began photographic retouching work for the images of the products that the company sells, we created some banners, we made some 3D pieces and we edited a couple of promotional videos. Then I began the work of low-fidelity prototyping of the website, a task that I carried out with the Balsamiq tool.
High fidelity prototyping was carried out with the Photoshop tool. At that time the team was reduced to one person, (me), this due to personal inconveniences that my colleagues had. After prototyping, I dedicated myself to building the website, which was made with HTML, CSS, Php and Bootstrap, they are tools that I use at a basic level.
This project was carried out with information from a real company, dedicated to the marketing of technology items located in San Andresito de la 38 in the city of Bogotá. However, it was part of an academic project while studying Multimedia Production Technology at SENA, and the client allowed us to access the company's information to be able to carry out the exercise.
This is not directly a UX project, but it allowed me to learn many things, learn about usability and accessibility issues, I was able to have a closer concept of what makes our work desirable, feasible and viable, generating in me an interest in increasing my knowledge and focus my work towards user experience design.
Here I leave the link to the page, if you want to review it, several of the works carried out during the process were associated there: https://merkadotecno.000webhostapp.com/
Obviously the design that was made must improve a lot, so this story will continue...
